Don’t forget ladies and gentlemen. That kind of deformation can still kill you. That’s basically getting hit with a sledge hammer as opposed to a bullet. Think about force over surface area. Bullet penetrates. But hitting the plate spreads it out. That deformation hits like a sledge hammer. On your sternum. That can break. And send bike fragments or sharp pieces from the break poking your lungs and heart and organs. I’m not knowing the company or plate. It fucking caught a 30-06. That’s not a fucking joke to take a hit from let alone catch. But that deformation is still absolutely causing critical injuries and taking you out of the fight for at least a few weeks. If you even make it out of whatever incident put you there to start with. Again. Not hating on the company or saying it deformed because it’s crap. I’m not. I just don’t want anyone to thing oh that’ll bruise but I’ll be fine. No. No no. That could still kill you. 100% a dice roll. The right round of 30-06 might have gone through. 180g moving at 2800fps is not a fucking joke.

What a terrible company. Shipped a "incorrectly manufactured" VP4 and took several contacts with customer service to even get a response. Provided photos and a note with the return. Then got shipped another with the same issue! Can't even get a manager or supervisor on the phone 👎👎

This is a sweet concealable vest. I own it as we speak and use it for plain clothes security detail.

Here’s the thing about the 30-06 though, you gotta be able to get back up after taking that full force.. it’s gonna knock the shit out of you. Possibly broken sternum or ribs.

Not practical for non-LEO, but....when things go 'south,' I WANT one, and recently got one. When things go south, it's too late to get one.

I work as an armed, Public Safety Officer here in Ohio. I wear the VP3 under my regular duty uniform. I love it. The vest fits perfectly, per the provided sizing chart. I'm 6'3", 260lbs and I wear the XL. It is comfortable regardless of whether I'm sitting, standing, moving, or stationary. It's great in cold and hot weather. Truly an excellent product. I also enjoy seeing all of the modular options. It is by far the best vest on the market at its price point and arguably competes well above its price against other popular armor. Keep up the great work over there at Bulletsafe. We appreciate it.

I just got one of your VP3 vests and it's pretty good. I was surprised how stiff it was compared to a pretty old level 2 kelvar vest I had. It is pretty close to the same thickness and weight as that level 2 vest, though, which is pretty impressive, especially for the price. I figured the stiffness is how it passes the 3A backface deformation standards.

Very cool, however, when wearing the vest, you leave your carotid and axilar arteries exposed. The vest appears to give decent protection otherwise.

You'll have broken ribs, you'll have the wind knocked out of you, possibly internal bleeding and severe bruising. It's still more than enough to take you out of the fight and earn you a trip to the ER Remember a 30-06 can kill 85 percent of the world's huntable game species, all non dangerous game up to the size of a moose. That's a 1500lb animal.

I'm former military and it's immersion breaking when I see actors shooting and killing armored individuals with 9mm rounds to the chest. Can 9mm really penetrate military grade body armor? Is range a factor?

Try a 30.06 FMJ then you’d see a different outcome a soft tip had no chance but nearly did it MILITARY don’t piss around with fancy ammo it’s blunt force FMJ or AP even APSE that was not a good test that’s why he kept his finger on the head of the round.
